Privacy policy

The short version

I only collect what I need to fill your order, answer your enquiry or run this website.
Card payments are handled by the payment provider. I never see or store your full card details.
I don’t sell your information and I won’t send you marketing unless you ask for it.

Who I am

ShotByAled is a photography business run by Aled, based in Sydney, Australia. In this policy, “I”, “me” and “my” mean ShotByAled. This policy explains how I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What I collect

When you order a print: your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address, and what you ordered.
When you send an enquiry or licence request: your name, email, company (if you add it) and your message.
When you pay: payment details go straight to the payment provider. I see the card type, the last four digits and whether the payment went through.
When you browse: basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device, plus cookies that keep the site and cart working.

How I use it

To process, print and deliver your order
To reply to enquiries and send quotes, licences and invoices
To prevent fraud and spam
To keep records required for tax and accounting
To keep the website secure and working properly

I’ll only send you marketing emails if you’ve opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Information stored overseas

Some of these providers, including Stripe, Cloudflare and Google, may store or process data outside Australia, for example in the United States. I use providers that are required to protect personal information to a standard similar to Australian law.

Cookies

The site uses cookies to keep your cart, run checkout and protect against fraud. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout may not work without them.

How long I keep it

Order and payment records are kept for 5 years to meet Australian tax requirements. Enquiries that don’t turn into work are deleted after 12 months. After that, information is deleted or anonymised.

Keeping it safe

The site runs over HTTPS, payments are processed by PCI compliant providers, and access to order details is limited to me.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it where I’m not required to keep it. Email me and I’ll respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
